About Maya

Maya first laced up her cleats at four years old, scoring THREE goals in her very first game! Now, two were in the wrong goal, but the passion, drive and determination to be great were obvious. She was destined to not only be good, but found herself charging the goal…no matter what!

After playing rec soccer as much as she was allowed for several seasons, she began playing competitively for the Charlotte Eagles at nine years old.  Unfortunately, the club disbanded the girls teams temporarily, so she transitioned to WCWAA prior to her 7th grade year.  After one great season, and many goals and assists later, the phone began ringing.  On the other end were ECNL coaches. With the encouragement of her current director and coach, she took the opportunity and joined the Charlotte Soccer Academy ECNL team.  After one season, she transitioned by following her heart, and joined the Charlotte Independence.  She is now playing for the Independence for the third year.
